GARMA FESTIVAL

Garma Festival will be held from 6. till 10. of August, in Gulkula, Northern Australia.

The Garma Festival is a celebration of Yolngu cultural inheritance. The Garma ceremony is aimed at sharing knowledge and culture, and opening people's hearts to the message of the land of Gulkula. The site at Gulkula has profound meaning for Yolngu. Set in the stringybark forest with views to the Gulf of Carpentaria, Gulkula is where the ancestor Ganbulabula brought the yidaki (didgeridoo) into being among the Gumatj people. The festival is designed to encourage the practice, preservation and maintenance of traditional dance (bunggul), song (manikay), art and ceremony on Yolngu lands in Northeast Arnhem Land.

SpiritFire Festival is a five day (Wednesday - Sunday) retreat-style gathering held in New Lebanon, NY (near Pittsfield, MA). We celebrate life and spirit through the pathways of music, movement, voice, Seva, and the Mysteries, focused in the medium of the sacred all-night fire circle.

During the day, attend workshops for all levels on various styles of drumming, dance, didgeridoo, vocal improvisation and more. Additionally, there are many planned or spontaneous affinity groups, intensives, rituals, and other events that happen, including Saturday community workshops where any participants are welcome to share their passion, experience, and expertise.

At night, you can attend all sorts of events, from the Soul Expression poetry jam to fantastic fire spinning to live drumming (you can drum too!), and then the community comes together the focus of our gathering: 11pm-to-dawn fire circle rituals where we can be inspired, empowered, entranced, and connected.
